THE Legal Landscape
Understanding today's psychedelic landscape is much like looking back at the early days of cannabis reform.
For many years, cannabis was prohibited across the United States. Over time, individual cities began decriminalizing possession, states introduced medical programs, and many later adopted adult-use frameworks. While cannabis remains a Schedule I substance under federal law, state-level reforms have dramatically changed how it is regulated.
Psychedelic policy appears to be following a similar path. Although federally regulated as Schedule I substances, scientific research, public awareness, and state-level policy discussions have expanded significantly over the past several years. Federal agencies have also supported additional clinical research into their potential therapeutic applications, contributing to a rapidly evolving legal landscape.
States with Regulated Access
Several states have established legal pathways for supervised or regulated psychedelic services.
Oregon became the first state to authorize supervised psychedelic services through licensed service centers in 2020, with operations beginning in 2023.
Colorado approved Proposition 122 in 2022, creating a regulated framework for supervised natural medicine services while decriminalizing certain personal possession and cultivation for adults.
New Mexico has established legislation creating a regulated medical access pathway, with implementation continuing through state rulemaking.
States Supporting Research
A growing number of states are investing in psychedelic research and therapeutic pilot programs.
These include:
California – Accelerating research into treatments for conditions such as PTSD and depression.
Texas – Funding FDA-supervised clinical research exploring ibogaine-assisted treatment.
Washington – Supporting limited therapeutic research through public institutions.
New Jersey – Developing hospital-based research initiatives focused on psychedelic-assisted therapy.
Local Decriminalization Efforts
Numerous cities and municipalities have adopted policies that make enforcement involving certain naturally occurring psychedelics a lower law enforcement priority.

Legislative Momentum
Across the country, lawmakers continue to introduce legislation exploring decriminalization, regulated therapeutic access, research funding, and public health initiatives.
States currently considering various forms of psychedelic legislation include:
Alaska, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, and West Virginia.
While every proposal is different, the overall pace of legislative activity has increased considerably in recent years as scientific research continues to expand.

A Guide to (MICRO) Dosing
WHat is Microdosing?
Microdosing is consuming small, sub-perceptible amounts of a psychedelic substance, typically in the range of 50-250mg. This dosage differs from a recreational dose as users are still able to function without any disruptive effects. Bella’s microdosing capsules are infused with ~125mg of magic fungi allowing one to easily stack dosages to their need.
When should I microdose?…Recommended Protocols
If you’re new to microdosing, it’s important to follow a schedule to maximize benefits and avoid tolerance build-up. Two widely used protocols are:
Fadiman Protocol: One (1) day on, two (2) days off. This allows your system to rest between doses.
Stamets Stack: Four (4) days on, two (2) days off. This method may be favored by those seeking more active mood support or cognitive enhancement.
Always listen to your body and adjust as needed. Start with the lowest effective dose and gradually work your way up if necessary.
A guide to Recreational dosing
Half dose – 500mg to 1g
This will deliver a subtle but noticeable level of body high and giddiness. Those with lower tolerances may start to have visual experiences.
Full dose – 1g to 2g
This should embark you on a full-on trip. With this dosage you’ll have the body high and may begin to see visual anomalies (think objects swaying and fractal patterns) along with other sensory amplifications.
Deep dose – 2g to 3g
This is entering serious dose territory. You may experience a heightened sense of “oneness” with the natural elements and people around you, and powerful visual and auditory hallucinations. You might also receive new, unfamiliar patterns of thought.
Heroic dose – 3g+
Anything beyond 3 grams could be considered a “heroic” dose. A dose this strong should be taken under supervision, with preparation, and in the pursuit of an intentional goal. Doses this strong are for experienced users.
